Are Shorter Arms Available for the B&W Companion To Lower the Trailer Nose

Question:

I installed a new pin box on my fifth wheel RV. LCI Flex Air. Installed it at the highest attachment point. When hooked up to my truck, RV is now 2inch higher. I have a BandW RVB3500. The arms are installed at their lowest setting. The pin box is non returnable. Does etrailer or BandW offer the internal adjustment arms 2inch shorter in height?

The problem you have run into is rather common and I do have a solution for this. That said, there is nothing else you can do with the pin box or 5th wheel hitch. There aren't any shorter arms for the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3500. The only feasible solution to your problem is to raise the rear of the trailer to then compensate for the nose high position your pin box has caused. In order to lift your trailer you have a few options which I have attached below.

I recommend using the Tandem Axle Lift Kit part # RR23QX which will give you an additional 2" of lift. This will be the least labor intensive option we have for you by far. If your axles are not already under the leaf springs then you can move them there with the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit part # K71-384-00 (2-3/8" Diameter Axle Tube) or part # K71-385-00 (3" Diameter Axle Tube) which would lift the trailer equal to the diameter of the axle plus height of the leaf spring stack.
