What if my phone runs out of battery. Will the brakes still work?

Yes, the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 will still work if your phone battery dies as it always retains the last settings. So if your phone died or somehow lost connection to the controller it would still operate like it was prior to the disconnection.
