Troubleshooting Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator 59005

Question:

We run 2 30 lb LP tanks on a food truck with the part in question installed for our regulator. Yesterday one of the tanks ran out, so I turned the switch to the other tank. While trying to re light pilots we realized that we could only get one burner lit and one other pilot. If we tried to increase/light the second burner the pilot would go out. We tried lighting a 3rd pilot w/1 burner and pilot but the 3rd would not light. We switched the tank to the other side of the regulator and had the same effect and we also connected a known good tank and came up with the same result. Upon completing our event we drove back roughly 30 min all while tanks and all upline outputs were off. From what I have read this would have been enough time to reset but we had the same result.

The Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator for Dual Propane Tanks # CAM59005 should reset after about 15 or so minutes. When you switched the gas gauge after the automatic changeover did it go to green? If it did not that would mean the regulator has an internal issue and needs to be replaced. If you got it less than a year ago, the regulator does have a 1-year warranty and can be replaced that way; otherwise you would need to purchase a new one.

I've added a link to a video review of this regulator for you to check out.
