Why Does Replacement Key for Sportrack Cargo Box Not Seem to Fit
Question:
I purchased key 2862 for my car carrier But it doesn’t work Sky line sports rack. Do I need to buy the whole Lock assembly and new key if so I will send Keys I bought back Code on lock was 2862 Please advise

The new key you ordered part # THKEYN2862 is correct for your cargo box but it's a little longer than what you had so it needs one extra step initially to work. In order to make the replacement key work, insert the key in the lock and tap the key in with a rubber mallet in order to fully seat the key. This will only need to be done the first time the key is used.
