In order to tow a 5th wheel trailer with a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 that has a 5-1/2' Bed your best two options are to use either a rotating pin box (Option 1) or a sliding 5th wheel hitch (Option 2). The rotating pin box option will be the most expensive but it will also be the only way for you to make full, complete 90 degree turns. If you are okay with reducing your turning radius to save some money then you could go with a sliding 5th wheel hitch. I have attached both options for you below but keep in mind you don't need to make full, complete 90 degree turns as there are few cases in which this is actually required.
Option 1:
Reese Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin part # RP34FR (Please Confirm Pin Box Model Number)
Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30047
Reese Universal Install Kit part # RP30035 (Drilling) or Reese Custom Install Kit part # RP50064-58 (No-Drilling)
Options 2:
Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Square Tube Slider part # RP30051
Reese Universal Install Kit part # RP30035 (Drilling) or Reese Custom Install Kit part # RP50064-58 (No-Drilling)
