How Does Vehicle that Needs Battery Disconnected Power Supplemental Tow Bar Braking System

Question:

How can you tow a 2017 Ford Explorer 4wd behind a motorhome? We have a road master kit installed by campingworld, however our understanding is that we have to disconnect the negative for the battery, however we have also been told the brakes will not work if we do so. How can we do this?

Roadmaster made a solution for your exact scenario with the outlet kit part # RM-9332. What this does is wires directly to your vehicle battery so that when your battery is disconnected from the vehicle, like it needs to be when flat towed, there is an outlet that's active for the braking system to draw power from.
