Since this is a universal fit item, it will fit vehicles with 3" inlet and 2-1/4" outlet tubes. If you can let me know what type of vehicle you have I can let you know if we can confirm the fit before your purchase; since it is a universal fit it is designed to fit a wide variety of vehicles.

The MagnaFlow Stainless Steel, Dual Core, Universal Muffler - XL Turbo Series - Satin Finish # MF13278 is a 3 chamber, dual core design to help reduce exhaust noise. These will still be louder than your stock muffler but won't be as loud as the MagnaFlow straight through models.

I have a solution, but from what I was able to find out it looks like most versions of the 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo have 2-1/4" inlets and outlets for the exhaust. For that reason, the # MF13278 likely won't work as a replacement muffler. To fit your vehicle I recommend the MagnaFlow # MF14223 which has 2-1/4" inlet and 2-1/4" outlet tubes as well as a 14" long body and 20" total length. If you prefer the satin style finish you can use # MF12138 . I still recommend having the inlet and outlet pipes measured, since sometimes if any work has been done on the exhaust system since the vehicle was manufactured, they may have changed the size of the pipes.
