Not Enough Slack On Brake Controller Harness To Reach Brake Controller On a 2017 Ram 1500
Question:
I have a 2017 Ram 1500. I know the parts I need. I know how it hooks up. My problem is I cant figure out how to bring the connector under the dash low enough to make the connection. How is it fastened under the dash?

If you take a look at the attached video you will see the location of the brake controller port on a 2017 Ram 1500. This port has a foam cover over the connector as well as some orange tape that is used to tie up the extra slack. If you need more slack then all you need to do is cut the tape as that would then allow the port to extend down. That said, this port does not directly attach to the back of the brake controller. The port will be first attached to an adapter, the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3024-P for example and then attached to a brake controller, the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 for example.
