Will the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent Leak When It Rains

Question:

Is the Maxxair air tight when closed? If so, what kind of seal?

The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Manual Lift - 4 Speed - White part # MA00-05301K does have a rubber weather seal around the lid and helps to prevent leaks. It is not considered air tight but it will prevent rain and condensation from leaking through the vent. A lot of our customers have mentioned they have not had any issues with leaks since switching to the MaxxFan.

How important is the ability to move air in both directions? Some more expensive models move are in and out. We have never lived in a trailer or RV so we are trying to decide what we need.

The ability to pull air in (and out), like with the Fan-Tastic Vent # FV801250 is a nice benefit, but it's not terribly important. You may use this feature occasionally but most likely you'll have it on exhaust mode (pushing air out) a vast majority of the time. Pulling air in might help to circulate the air better on really muggy days.
