Fuse for Trailer Stop/Turn Singal Blows Inside Motorhome with No Toad Attached  

Question:

• 20Amp fuse blows inside my MH • the 20 Amp fuse that BLOWS operates my Flat Tow turn signals • This happens EVEN when I’m not hooked up to my Flat Tow • I drive for about 15 miles and the fuse blows flat-towing or unhooked from my tow ….Fuse still blows • All my turn/break lights work fine on my Motorhome even with this fuse Blown • If I hook up to my flat-tow with the FUSE BLOWN I still have running lights? • Just no turn signals or break lights…But everything works fine on the Motorhome lights ,turn signals/Break lights and emergency flasher Help this id killing me ?

If the trailer stop/turn signal fuse blows inside your motorhome when the toad is not attached then that means you have a wiring short on the motorhome's trailer stop/turn signal trailer lighting circuit. The trailer stop/turn signal lights are on a completely different circuit than the motorhome's stop/turn signal lights so it is not odd these still work fine. The only advice I can give you to try and remedy this issue is start tracing these wires from behind the trailer connector while checking for brakes. If there is any corrosion inside the actual trailer connector then that could cause this issue as well.
