Magnetic Strength of Easy-Hitch Light-Up Hitch Aligner # JE00600

Question:

It appears its just a small magnetic end. Hiw do these stay on a hitch ball if it is greased? If dropped or knocked over and hit the ground will they break?

Expert Reply:

The Easy-Hitch Light-Up Hitch Aligner # JE00600 that you referenced feature a strong enough magnetic base that it will attach to the hitch ball even if it has already been lubricated. If it's bumped during the hookup process it will likely cause enough of a jolt for the rod to release from the ball but they are durable enough to survive.

I have attached customer review in which he describes the proper method of actually intentionally bumping the rod off the ball to ensure proper alignment, noting that unit is never damaged in the process.
