Question:

I have a 1986 Ford f350. I spliced into the cold side of the brake switch, keeping the original brake wire traveling to the brake lights. So now.... Question Do I conect the Yellow wire to the cold side brake wire. and the brown wire to the Brake controller, brake wire ?

To install pulse preventer, # 5501, you will be installing inline on the vehicle brake output or cold side wire after the connection point where the brake controller is spliced in.

Basically, the brake controller red wire will be attach to the cold side of the brake switch. On this same wire, you will install the pulse preventer. After the connection point of the brake controller, cut the wire that leads to the brake lights. Attach the end closest to the brake controller to the yellow wire and attach the brown wire to the end that goes out to the brake lights.

I made a basic diagram that shows the connections for you.
