Is it Normal for Prodigy P3 Brake Controller to Have Power on Light all The Time

Question:

Hello I am putting a Tekonsha P3 brake controller in my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. I am using a 3050-P cable to connect it to the Pathfinder. When I plug the controller into the cable the controller powers on without the ignition being turned on and does not go off. The trailer is not connected to the vehicle while doing this. Is this normal?

Brake controllers such as the P3 you installed # 90195 will go into a sleep mode after about 15 minutes of it sensing no movement. If you peek through the window after 15 minutes then it should be in sleep mode with the lights all off.

What you are seeing is normal.
