Replacement Slider Hitch To Replace Reese 14K Classic Fifth Wheel Hitch

Question:

I have a “14k Classic” hitch I would like to convert to a slider. I saw another response about a 14k hitch and you said to use 30092 slider. That one lists for “Pro” hitches and mine is a “Classic “. Would I use the 30092 or the 30048 slider? Thanks.

I contacted Reese and the tech was not sure if it was possible to convert the classic Reese 14k over to a slider hitch. He did say that once you acquired the parts needed it would be more cost effective to just purchase a slider hitch because you would need to switch the cross member and the base.

I recommend to replace the Classic Reese 14k with a Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider part # RP30084. The Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider is designed with a single-hook jaw which gives you a better connection to the king pin so you don't have as much chucking while towing. It will also provide you with 10" of travel back to front for better turning clearance.
