How To Tow a T@B Travel Trailer with Brakes Using a Vehicle with 4-Way Trailer Connector
Question:
Looking at this for 2 vehicles that will have a 4 pin wiring harness already installed, to tow a T@B travel trailer that comes with a 7 pin connection. Just want to make sure this is the correct adapter to run all lights and electric trailer brakes.

The Adapter 7 Pole to 4 Pole with Tester and Cover part # 47345 is designed to allow a vehicle with a 7-way to tow a trailer with a 4-way, not the other way around. In order to tow a trailer with electric brakes you will need to install a 7-way on both tow vehicles, the 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Adapter part # ETBC7 is what I recommend as it comes with all the other parts you need. In order to install the 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Adapter you will simply plug the two ways into one another, ground the white wire, and then run the blue wire to the brake controller.
If you are using a wireless brake controller like the Curt Echo Brake Controller part # C51180 which is what I strongly recommend then you won't have to run a blue wire into the cab to a brake controller, but you will have to run the black wire to the vehicle's battery.
