Bob, The CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors part # CM10950 add about 4.5" of length onto your factory mirror to help you see around the cargo trailer. The mirror angle is adjustable as well so you can set it up for the best visibility for your trailer to eliminate blind spots and keep you safe on the road. We have had customers say these mirrors made it easier to see around their longer trailers. I have attached an installation video for your reference.

However, your best option is a pair of extendable replacement mirror on the 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 because they are going to give you the best visibility. I recommend K-Source Custom Extendable Towing Mirrors part # KS62137-38G which will extend a whole 22-1/2" from their base for towing. When you are not towing you can simply push them back into place. They also have built-in spotter mirrors to reduce your blind spots when you change lanes or pass other vehicles on the highway. These are manual mirrors, if you would to retain the electronic features of your mirror, you will need part # KS62135-36G.
