Troubleshooting Pre-Collision Warning with Tekonsha Brake Controller on 2018 Toyota Highlander

Question:

I believe I’m running into a similar issue as detailed on one of your answer pages. I too have a 2018 Toyota Highlander get a Pre-Collision Warning message . I have a Tekonsha Brake Controler PN 6819TEK . It sometimes happens if I push manual slide knob while car running. Lately it’s happening if I put on left turn signal and actually turn left. I also notice that if I press the break the left turn signal on dash turn on but doesn’t flash.

I wasn't able to find a Tekonsha brake controller with that part number but if you are having issues similar to what that other customer is experiencing then I'd try installing the Diode # RM-690 on the red wire of your Tekonsha brake controller to help prevent backfeeding like what the Expert stated on the answer page. If you are still having issues after this troubleshooting step please let me know that you are having issues as well as the name of your brake controller and I can help you troubleshoot further.
