Trouble Pairing the Curt Echo With a 2008 Toyota Highlander
Question:
Hi, we have had a ton of issues with the RF Prodigy on our 2008 Highlander. We tried everything and the only thing that works is pairing it to another car and then putting it back in the highlander. This usually works for 1 day and then will become unpaired again forcing us to track down another vehicle to help us. Our 7 way plug in the back is after market. Do you believe this 7-way to 7-way adapter could be a solution? Thanks!

Yes, the Trailer Connector Adapter part # 20142 will most likely fix the pairing issue you are having with the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 on your 2008 Toyota Highlander. The problem is that some vehicles like your Highlander don't have enough of a load on the 7-way for the Curt Echo to sense therefore issues with paring can occur. The fix for this issue is an adapter like the above which increases the load therefore allowing for the Curt Echo to pair properly.
