Recommended Suspension Enhancement for 2009 Chevy Silverado 3500 with Slide-In Truck Bed Camper

Question:

Would like to get the load deflection curves for the 8610 springs. I am interested in using these on my 2009 Chevy Silverado 3500 Dually when I load a slide in truck camper with a weight of approximately 4,000 lbs. Would you recommend this type of application and how much sag should I expect?

Expert Reply:

I spoke with my contact at Firestone regarding the capacity of the F2250 Ride-Rite springs. The capacity of the springs is 4800 lbs, which would be nowhere near sufficient to handle the weight of your slide in camper.

I would suggest going with an air spring set-up like the Firestone # F2700. With a 7500 lb capacity, this kit would work great for your application. You might also be interested in a compressor kit, part # F2168 that would allow you to add or remove air pressure from the system from the cab of your truck.

I have linked you to install instructions for both kits as well as to an install video for the compressor and a product description video for the spring kit I recommended.
