Can Derale Tornado Electric Fan be Used in Front of Transmission Cooler
Question:
I have a 3/4 ton 2011 GMC Yukon XL with a factory towing package. It comes with a 5 x 10 factory transmission cooler with the towing package. Can I mount this fan in front of that cooler to decrease the tranny fluid temp while towing?

Expert Reply:
Yes, you can technically install the Derale 9" Tornado Electric Fan # D16509 in front of the transmission cooler of your 2011 GMC Yukon XL but it may be that you are getting diminishing returns. This fan is unique in that it can be used as a pusher or puller application so I recommend instead that you install this fan behind the radiator which is going to maximize your cooling efficiency.
