Does Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller Draw Power From Battery Without Trailer Connected

Question:

Greetings, if my controller 90195 is connected to vehicle power and there is no trailer connected, does the controller still draw power from the vehicle battery? Also, if i am driving with the 90195 connected, does the 90195 power up? I look forward in hearing back from you cheers

Yes, the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 will draw power from your battery even without a trailer connected if you are hardwiring it in or you leave the wiring adapter plugged (in if your vehicle has that option). That said, the power draw will be very minimal and there is no worry at all about draining your vehicle battery. In regards to powering on, it is motion-activated and has no on or off switch so it does come on, but again, the power draw is so small it will have no affect whatsoever on your vehicle.
