How Much Power Will a Tuner Give a 2011 Chevy Camaro SS

Question:

how much more HP can I get?How about the smog check? A while back they are selling those performance chip and gives up to 50 hp but smog time comes it has to be remove and hopefully the mechanic still around that installed it because it wont pass???

For starters, the Edge Insight CTS2 Comprehensive Gauge Display part # EP84130 is not an actual tuner just a gauge display. Instead, I recommend the Superchips Flashpaq F5 Performance Tuner part # SU2845 which is an actual tuner that will provide increases in horsepower and torque up to 23HP and 22TQ. This device would also not cause you to not pass emission testing.

Please note, not many if any canned tunes will give a naturally aspirated (NA) engine a 50 horsepower gain. I would say around a 20 horsepower increase is more or less standard for these applications. The reason for this is that the canned tunes which are just simply the pre-loaded tunes that come with the tuners are mapped very conservatively. If the engine was equipped with a forced induction system such as a turbo or super charger than that is where you would see upwards of 50+ horsepower increases as boost can be increased to increase horsepower dramatically.
