Comparing the Reese Inboard RP50081-58 and Reese Outboard RP56006-53 Kits for a 2005 Ford F-150

Question:

The Reese kits 50081-58 and 56006-53 both will work on my 2005 F150, 5.5foot box. Relative to the axle position, how will the over all load balance change? Thank you.

Correct, the Reese Quick-Install Inboard Custom Installation Kit part # RP50081-58 and the Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard Installation Kit part # RP56006-53 are both fits for your 2005 Ford F-150. In regards to kingpin location, the inboard kit will sit about 2-1/4" in front of the rear axle whereas the outboard kit will sit directly over the center of the rear axle. There really won't be much of an affect on ride quality with either position but I will say the outboard kit part # RP56006-53 offers more cab to loft clearance along with being easier to install so if you have the extra cash this would be the kit I recommend for you.
