Recommendation for a 5 bike Rack Used With 4 Adult Bikes and 1 Kids Bike

Question:

I have a Toyota Sequoia and will be buying a hitch mount rack for 5 bikes. 4 adult mountain bikes, one adult cruiser and a kids mountain bike. I was looking at Yakima and Thile 5 bike mounts... how would you rate the Yakima ridgeback 5 and the Thule Apex 5 Xt? which of the two would have the most spacing in between bikes? Essentially looking for the most functional rack for that price point. Thank you

To come right out and answer the most important question first, the Thule Apex XT-5 # TH9026XT is going to provide the same spacing for the bikes. It has 28" long arms.

The Thule Apex XT-5 is going to be Thule's top end hanging rack for 5 bikes, so that you're getting the top of the line product by this manufacturer. The Apex 5 has the integrated hitch and bike locks that you would expect from a top of the line rack and it's also going to give you a slightly higher carrying capacity for all of your bikes.
