Radio Interference When Using the Scosche BTFreq Bluetooth FM Transmitter  

Question:

When I plug the unit into the power supply, it with interfere with some of my preset stations. I unplug it and they are normal again.

Typically the only time that the Scosche BTFreq Bluetooth FM Transmitter # 332-BTFMA should be causing interference is if you have it set to the same frequency as your preset stations. I did reach out to my contact at Scosche about your problem and this was their reply:

I spoke to my Tech department about this, he said this is not common but it depends on the stations in your area. Almost all FM transmitters on the market have a base set of frequencies that may interfere with local stations when plugged in. It also depends on the vehicle and how insulated the power from the radio and the antenna is.

I purchased the same # 332-BTFMA just today, June 16, 2020. I tried it while in a parking lot and the clarity and quality of sound transmitted to the factory stereo was not what I feared, radio static while tuning in a channel, of course. The static subsides, and then I started the truck. While driving I could hear every whirr, pop, crackle, ping, whine, increase of intensity and decrease of such... the experience left me imagining I was listening to every electrical circuit being produced by my vehicle and outputting through the speakers! Interesting to hear as a matter of fact, but not what I expected. The factory deck by itself as a MP3/WMA CD player, FM radio, satellite radio or use through direct wired to device FM transmitter, received by the deck, produce no such interference. Did I purchase a dud transmitter or is my truck REALLY trying to tell me something but didn't have the means until after I plugged in the BTFMA? Lol! Thanks for reading and perchance, responding.

You gave your truck a voice! In all seriousness, this isn't normal. It's very possible that the transmitter is bad but if you haven't already, try simply unplugging the unit and plugging it back in just to reset it. If this doesn't help please reach out to us and we will take care of it.
