Locking Plate for Demco Hijacker and MOR/Ryde Pin Box

Question:

Have 2019 Ford F350 with OEM puck system and Demco Autoslide hitch purchased from trailer in March 19. Recently purchased new 5th wheel with MOR/Ryde pin box. I advised the dealer a capture plate was required and gave the links to your website and Demco products for the DM6025. They purchased and installed something? I have attached 2 pictures of the installation hopefully showing the bottom of the plate and one side viewed from the front. I am trying to confirm if this looks like the DM6025 capture plate you supply. Also the 4 spacer blocks, shown in the installation instructions and your website are not installed. Should these be installed and if so what is their purpose restrict side to side movement??. Also note the 2 notches on the edge of the welded adapter. 2 corresponding notched are on the opening in the back of the hitch. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Thank you for the pictures. You are definitely correct that you need the Demco Hijacker Autoslide Locking Plate for MOR/ryde Pin Boxes # DM6025 to use the MOR/Ryde pin box with your Demco Hijacker # DM8550024.

The pictures that you sent in looks like your dealer just welded on some brackets of their own to lockout the Hijacker. If you notice the picture that I have attached the bracket from the Demco locking plate looks nothing like what they installed which is why you aren't seeing those spacer blocks either.

If they have received the okay from Demco that this is safe then I wouldn't worry about it, but I kind of doubt that happened so I'd really question whether this is completely safe or not since it hasn't been tested in real-world applications like the Demco plate has.
