Replacement Axles for Dexter 2800 lb Round Tube Straight Trailer Axles on 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

Hi, I’d like to replace my Dexter 2800 lb axles on my 5th wheel Here is my current configuration: Spring centre: 63” Hub face to Hub face: 81” Trailer GVWR: 6400 lb Wheel lugs: 5 on 4.5” Electric brakes I understand the Dexter 2800 lb axle is obsolete, do you have replacement axle / brake configuration 3500 lb perhaps that you could recommend?

We do have a solution for replacing your obsolete Dexter trailer axle but it isn't your standard trailer axle as none of ours matches that description. If you want to stick with a standard axle you need to contact a trusted trailer shop to have them order a custom axle for you.

Our option is the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # A35RS545E which is rated for 3,500 lbs and comes with electric brake hubs. This can be used in a tandem axle setup and the biggest benefit of these is that the suspension is virtually maintenance-free. As long as you aren't overloading your trailer (which is the 6,400 lb GVWR) then you won't have anything to worry about.

Some applications don't require you to install a crosstube and so these can also promote better ground clearance for your trailer. I have attached an installation video for you to reference and see what all it entails.
