How To Replace the 4-Pole On a Blue Ox Base Plate Kit with a 6-Pole
Question:
Hi, I have a Blue Ox 4 wire adapter mounted to the base plate of my 2013 Ford Edge and want to switch to a six wire so I can install a charging cable in the loop. What is the hole centers of the mounting so I can determine if it is a direct replacement?

Expert Reply:
The 6-Way Super Sealed Connector with Cable part # 50-86-007 has mounting holes spaced 2-7/8" to 3-3/8" apart. That said, if you have the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit part # BX2628 on your 2013 Ford Edge then you will want to use the Blue Ox 6-Pole, Round Pin, Trailer Wiring Socket part # BX294-0902 which is designed exactly for this base plate kit and will be a direct replacement. Then, in order to run the charge line to the battery you can use the Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-156-25.
