Okay to Use Wet Bolts For Lippert Correct Track Suspension System

Question:

In a previous expert reply by Conner L. concerning lubrication on the Lippert Correct Trac system when applying the MOR Ryde upgrade kit UO12-029 he explained that Lippert did not recommend lubricating the correct trac bolts/bushings. Reason being the bolts for the correct trac are longer and are knurled. It appears the MOR Ryde upgrade kit supplies the longer bolts and they are knurled but they are also wet bolts. I called MOR Ryde about this to see if they were contradicting the Lippert recommendation. They said they had never heard of this and saw no reason not to grease the longer, knurled wet bolts on the correct trac. I was wondering if etrailer could give their opinion/recommendation on this controversial topic. I personally have a hard time thinking 2 metal surfaces rubbing together continuously with no lubrication can be a good thing.

It's perfectly acceptable to lubricate suspension shackle bolts, as long as you're lubricating the wear surface and not the knurled portion that's meant to keep the bolt from spinning in the spring hanger. I've contacted my representative in the suspension control division of LCI (Lippert) who confirms that they have no problem whatsoever using a wet bolt in that application.
