Can the Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent Be Riveted
Question:
Hello! I just ordered the vent line fan, haven’t received it yet. I’m rebuilding a Shasta canned ham, I have aluminum skin on exterior, 1.5” of insulation in between 1/2” wood on interior 1/4” underlayment and 1/4” tongue and groove so not super durable wood. I’m wondering if there’s any way I can rivet the fan in from exterior in instead of using screws since I don’t have much to screw into from the exterior.

If you like, you can use rivets with the Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent part # VP-543SP as I don't see too much of a problem with this. That said, there isn't anything going to be pulling on the vent so standard self-tapping screws like what is included with the Roof Vent Installation Kit part # 344270KITW would work just fine as well.
