Fit of CR Brophy Scissor Steps for 9 1/2 ft Eagle Truck Bed Camper
Question:
Hi We have a 2011 Eagle Cap Camper 950, with under the door storage and molded step . This molded step is too steep for us. The camper is off the truck when we use it. We are looking for scissor steps that will make our descend out of the camper to the ground easier for us. From the door edge to the molded step is 13 in , the molded step comes out depth close to 8 1/8 in and is 5 1/4 in width. The measurement from the door edge, straight down to the ground is 36in. Is there a scissor step that could work for us. Thank you!

That door to your storage compartment kind of throws a wrench in the works, doesn't it? Unless you want to completely lose access to that storage, scissor steps are going to be your only option.
The # SS04 CR Brophy Camper Scissor Steps you referenced would be the solution if you have a 1 inch tall space available between the hinge of the storage door and the underside of the door threshold. The mounting bracket measures 1 inch tall, and even if part of it had to mount over that trim piece running around your storage access door it would still work as long as the bracket was securely mounted.
The steps have an approximate 8 inch rise/ 8 inch run. The first step will be approximately 8 inches downward from the threshold and 8 inches out, with the second step being about 16 inches down and 16 inches outward from the camper body, so they should clear that molded step perfectly. The only thing that could possibly prevent this set of steps from working is the lack of a 1 inch space under the threshold.
