Question:

The etrailer 2,000-Watt Portable Inverter Generator # 333-0001 has a starting (surge) power output of 2,000 watts and then a running (rated) power output of 1,600 watts. Since the average refrigerator uses 1,600 starting watts and 800 running watts you should be good to go but you first need to verify these specs with your fridge to ensure that you don't overload the generator.

For your application I recommend going with the etrailer 4,500-Watt Portable Generator # 333-0005 since you are looking to power 2 fridges and possibly some other appliances. This generator can run on gas or propane and has a starting power output of 4,500 watts gas/4,050 watts propane and running power output of 3,600 watts gas/ 3,250 watts propane which is better suited for your needs.

The biggest advantage to using gas or propane to power the generator is that in an emergency situation most people will be looking to purchase gas whereas you can use propane if you really need to plus propane is much easier to store than gas.
