Can MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent Be Powered From Van's Battery
Question:
Hi, can I run a Maxxfan deluxe straight from my van battery if i dont have an auxiliary battery?

Expert Reply:
The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-07500K that you referenced just needs a 12V power source so it certainly could be wired to your van's battery instead of a separate auxiliary unit. The potential risk with this application is draining the vehicle's battery which could leave you stranded. This is why powered accessories like this are generally wired to a separate battery that can simply be charged from the tow vehicle or with a charger like the CTEK # CTEK56353 to maintain a steady source.
The MaxxFan draws 5 amps of power during operation.

Hi. If I use my van battery, and if I replace the standard it came with (2020 Ford Transit 250), could I have a bigger battery put in, reducing the risk of running it down?
