How Much Clearance Should I Have Between Tire and Trailer Frame
Question:
I have a utility trailer with the wheels on the inside of the frame rails. I want to move them to the outside of the frame rails to make bed bigger. When i get my outside frame measurement, how much farther should the hub face be to allow room for the tire?

We recommend to have at least 2 inches of clearance from the tire to the trailer frame and 3 to 4 inches of clearance from the top of the tire to fender to accommodate for suspension travel. If you plan on using Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System w Electric Brake Hubs part # A35RS545E then the hub face will sit 6" from the frame. You would need a tire with a section width no larger than 8 inches to have the proper clearance.
