Can the 1,200 Lb Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension for Off-Road Tires Be Upgraded

Question:

I am considering the timbren asr1200s03 for my trailer build. I will be using Jeep takeoff wheels from a 2019. 17inch 5 on 5 These wheels have 6.25 back spacing, I believe. I think the 8inch hub to frame dimension will be fine.???? I have not got the wheels yet so I cannot get the actual measurement from inner edge of tire to hub face to make sure I have proper clearance from the trailer side. I believe the trailer will weigh around 1000 pounds. If it comes in too heavy, could I later order replacement rubber springs for the 2000 pound models and retrofit them? Cost? I may run brakes. Just want to confirm with you that this model does use the 10inch brakes and has the heavier spindles. Thanks,

The Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension part # ASR1200S03 cannot be upgraded to a higher weight capacity but with a 1,000 lb trailer there would only be around 850-900 lbs of weight on the axles as the tongue of the trailer will carry around 10-15%. Therefore, the trailer can weigh from 1,320-1,380 lbs before you are technically overweight.

The Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension can then be used with the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # 23-468-469 and the Dexter 10" Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # 84546UC3-EZ (2). If the Jeep wheels you are using have a 6-1/4" back spacing then you should have plenty of room but the sidewall of the tire will stick out further so it really just depends on how large of a tire you go with.
