I spoke with my contact at SportRack and she stated that the SkyLine XL cargo box SR7095, will not fit a spread of 44 inches on your 2007 Mazda CX-9. However, there are other boxes that are listed as a fit to the factory crossbars on your CX-9.
I recommend the Yakima RocketBox Pro 14, # Y07192. Yakima lists this box as a direct fit to your vehicle. It is closest in cost and size as the Explorer box. I have included a link to the installation details for you.

I have a 2020 Mazda CX-9 with oem roof rack. It appears that there is one set position for the crossbars. They seem closer than ideal for my rocket box and ski rack. Is there a way to increase the spread?
