Can A Slide Topper Awning Be Installed On a Slide Out with Standard Awning Already Attached

Question:

I am about to purchase a 2020 Grand Design Reflection 303RLS which has a Solera side awning on the door-side slide. How can I determine if there will be clearance for the topper hardware? Is this even conceivable? Photo attached.

In order to determine if there is space for both a slide topper and standard awning on your 2020 Grand Design Reflection 303RLS you will need to have at least 3" from the inside of the flange on the side of the slide to the outside of the mounting bracket for the awning arms and 6" from the outside edge of the top flange to the top of the bracket for the awning arms. If you have the above space then you can install a Solera RV Slide-Out Awning, just let me know what length your slide is so I can get your the correct part number but I have also attached a list of options for you. If you don't have space in the above location you will need to choose between the two or move your awning arms.

Is there a way you can show by "arrows" in a photo where the 3" and 6" clearances need to occur? I'm sorry but I am confused by your description above. Also are you mounting the brackets on the flange or the wall of the slide? Please advise. Thanks

The 3" clearance you're needing is side to side - the arms of your current awning should be at least 3" outside of the slide-out on each end. The 6" is your top to bottom clearance - you need the awning to be at least 6" above your slide-out (so the Slide-Topper can fit in between).
