How To Add More Cooling to a 2010 Keystone Laredo M-318 RL

Question:

I have a 2010 Laredo 318 rl fifth wheel which came from the factory with 1 ac unit, the trailer is 35 feet long and needless to say , even here in Colorado on hot summer days this ac can not keep up, I asked about an installing an additional unit where I have it serviced as when I bought the unit I was told it was prewired for an additional unit for the roof... not so much... and the cost to run the wiring and the unit was well over $3500, just wondering if one of the single room units will work, what would the wiring entail as it would be used to cool where our bedroom is, I am sure you are familiar with the traditional fifth wheel layout, what is your reccomendation and advice and sure appreciate the help...

I am not really sure what you are referring to as a single room unit but the best option that we can offer would be installing an additional rooftop air conditioner unit or upgrading the one you have now. For example, if you have a 13,500 BTU unit now then you can upgrade to a 15,000 BTU unit for increased cooling. I recommend the Atwood Air Command Rooftop RV Air Conditioner part # AT15028-22 which even comes with a heat pump as well. These unit would use the wring you already have ran so you will not have to pay to have this done for you.

If you already have a 15,000 BTU unit then the only option we can offer you would be to install an additional rooftop air conditioner, the Atwood Air Command Rooftop RV Air Conditioner. If you like, you can shop around at different service centers to see if you can get a better price or just do this yourself.
