Recommendations for an Electric Radiator Fan for a 1984 Datsun 720 2.4L V6
Question:
I recently purchased an 84 model Nissan/Datsun 720 gas truck that had one of your electric fans already installed. It looks so small to cool the large radiator. What is the electric fan model number you would suggest so I can cross check and would you recommend using 2? Thanks in advance.

In regards to fans, it is not the size that matters it is the airflow. Electric fans are not necessarily vehicle specific. If you have # D16908 that you have referenced, it puts out 450 cubic feet of air per minute. This is not very much and a fan that can generate more would be needed.
Typically, a 6 cylinder motor requires 1,600 to 2,000 cubic feet per minute.
The fans that you could use largely depends on the space you have in the engine compartment to mount them. I recommend getting the fan with the most CFM (cubic feet per minute) in the range listed above that you can fit. I have included a link to our electric fan main page and a link to our FAQ on electric fans.
You also have to make sure you get the correct fan, a pusher fan is in front of the radiator and pushed air through it. A puller fan is behind the radiator and pulls air through.
