Thule Kayak Carrier To Use With Thule Force XT Cargo Box

Question:

Hi there I am looking to get crossbars for a 2019 Subaru outback. My goal is to be able to install the hullavator as well as the Thule force xt sport cargo box. I believe I need 31inch minimum of rack space to mount the hullavator. The XT sport box is bout 25inch wide, would I be able to sneak by with a 55inch crossbar or should I look for a 60inch crossbar? Or is this not feasible? Thanks for your help!

I do have an option for you but I contacted Thule and the Thule Hullavator part # TH898 actually requires 38 inches of bar space to install so it would not fit on the 60" cross bar with the Thule Force XT Sport Rooftop Cargo Box part # TH6356B that is 25" wide.

I recommend to use the Thule Force XT Sport Rooftop Cargo Box with a J-style Kayak carrier Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier and TelosXL Load Assist part # MPG114MD-351XL. These J-style carriers only measure 6 inches wide so you have room on the bars for them and they also come with load assist bars that allow you push the kayaks up the side of your vehicle and onto the roof with ease.

For the 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon I recommend to use the Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars - Aluminum - Silver - 47" Long - Qty 2 part # TH711200, Evo Flush Rail Feet # TH710601 and Thule Roof Rack Fit Kit part # TH186047 if you have the Touring Style Outback Wagon with flush mounted rails.

If you do not have the Touring style, you can use the same bars with Fit Kit part # THKIT4063 and Rapid Podium Feet # TH460R.
