It sounds like your electric brakes are locking up on your trailer after you re-wired a new 7-way plug on the 2014 Chevy Silverado 2500 duramax. It is possible that the new 7-way connector and the trailer connector on the trailer are pinned differently. You want to make sure that all of the functions match up between the trailer connector and the vehicle connector. I have included a diagram of how the 7-way vehicle side connector and the 7-way trailer side connector should be pinned.

If you just installed a new brake controller as well then the brake output circuit may have constant power on it which would make your trailer brakes lock up. The brake output circuit on the 7-way vehicle connector should only show 12 volts when the brake in the towed vehicle is applied or the manual override on the brake controller is applied. You want to make sure the brake controller blue wire is properly wired and the brake controller itself has a good ground connection.
