Should My Custom Seat Covers Have Air Bag Flaps if My Vehicle Has Air Bags in the Seat

I noticed there is no side airbag flap on either side of the front seat covers. I have the custom seat covers. Is this normal? Many thanks for your kind help : Just asked this question but gave you the wrong info.. Question: there is no side airbag flap on my front seat covers. I have Carhartt PrecisionFit Custom Seat Covers for a 2019 Outback Is this okay ? also, do I put the airbag foot tag closest to the door or the center console? many thanks

I did some research on the Carhartt PrecisionFit Custom Seat Covers for the 2019 Subaru Outback and there is a hidden Seat Air-Bag Tear-Away Safety Built-In in the covers. The flap may not be obvious but where the tag that says "air bag" is located that section can easily tear away if in the event the air bag may deploy. I took a look at some photos of the CarHartt PrecisionFit covers in a 2019 Subaru Outback and the air bag tag goes closest to the door. I have attached a photo that shows this. A lot of custom covers especially Covercraft covers have the tear away option built in so that the flap does not effect the look of the cover.

However, it is a good idea to make sure that the location of your seat air bags are closest to the door. You can confirm that with the dealership, I was not able to find their exact location.
