Will the Alert Still Sound if the Bulb Burns Out on Hopkins Backup Alert # HM20100VA

When the bulb burns out does the alarm still work or does it stop too

I spoke with my contact at Hopkins about the Backup Alert, # HM20100VA. He stated that if is the bulb that burns out then the alert will still sound. If it burns out before the unit in the receptacle where it plugs in (meaning no power reaches the unit) then neither the bulb nor the alert will function.
