Towing Mirrors without Power Defrost for 1999 GMC Sierra 3500 Diesel
Question:
1999 GMC Sierra K3500 crew cab w/6.5 litter diesel. I purchased these mirrors thinking i had mirror defrost capabilities. My question is will the connectors still mate and work for the power window function? my truck connector is a 4 pin and the new mirror is an 8 pin.

I have a solution for you, but I checked with my contact at K-Source and they informed me that the connectors on the K-Source Custom Extendable Towing Mirrors # KS62139-40G are not going to work with the 4 pin connector on your 1999 GMC Sierra 3500. After doing some research it doesn't appear that anyone makes a power towing mirror that is going to retain the functions of existing mirrors on your truck. Taking that into consideration, I recommend the K-Source Snap and Zap Mirrors # KS80800 which will snap on to your factory mirrors, allowing you to keep the existing power features and still giving you the added visual clearance that you'll need when towing.
If you're not concerned with keeping the power features of your existing mirrors, and more concerned with towing visibility you can use the K-Source Extendable Custom Mirrors # KS62073-74G . These extend out when you need the extra length for towing but also contract back to the same position as your factory mirrors and fold up easily for when you need to pull into a tight space.
