Adding Generator to Jayco Trailer with Factory Dry Camping Package

Question:

I have the dry canping package option in my trailer. Can this generator package be installed and wired into the exsisting pre wire? as well can it use propane as a fuel source?

Based on my research it looks like the dry camping package on your Jayco consists of LP generator prep and extra LP capacity (bigger tanks). From what I can tell this generator prep basically means the camper is equipped to handle a larger LP generator (not the portable options that we currently carry) so that you can run your appliances through it with the flip of a switch. With that being said Jayco was pretty vague when I called them to try and get more details so I recommend contacting them with your VIN so you can determine exactly what your camper is equipped with.

Even though your camper is prepped to handle a larger, more permanent generator that doesn't mean you can't still use portable options as a power source instead. It looks like a lot of customers still decide to go this route even with the prep package due to the cost of this size generator along with the added weight it puts on the camper.

The etrailer.com 6,000-Watt Portable Inverter Generators # 333-0003-2-0007 that you referenced is a great set but they are gas only units. For a similarly rated unit that runs on propane (or gas) I recommend the Firman # 333-H05751, which has a starting power output of 7,125 watts and a running output of 5,700 watts.

I have also attached a link that will take you to our complete selection of propane generators that you can look through.
