Replacement Capture Plate Assembly For Demco Fifth Wheel Hitches

Question:

Im a bit confused. In looking at the picture of your DM 6171 capture plate, it has threads and bolts. The existing is smooth and slides in and out of the holes. So what gives? The pictures of the reviewers sent show it is suppose to be smooth and not threaded. Thinking this is not going to replace the OEM version that is smooth. I see the OEM is smooth, yours is threaded. What gives? I need a smooth one

Demco Hijacker Autoslide Capture Plates for Trailair Rota-Flex Pin Boxes part # DM6171 is the capture plate that you need if your pin box is a Rota-Flex Pin box or a Trailair Flexair pin box. I spoke with Demco and the threads are a design change but you can still use the plate to replace your old smooth plate.

If you do not have either one of those pin boxes and have one of the following Demco models: # DM8550022, # DM8550024, # DM8550034, # DM8550035, # DM8550037, # DM8550038, # DM8550040, or # DM8550041 you can use Replacement 5th Wheel Hitch Capture Plate Assembly part # DM14743-95 which is also threaded but will still work to replace your old one.
