How To Activate 12V Trailer Charge Circuit On Ford Super Duty With Factory 7-Way

Question:

I have a 2018 F250 super duty that doesnt have power to 7 pin plug for trailer batteries. Ive put a fuse on #27 in fuse box. does the trailer have to be connected in order for truck computer to recognise trailer is hooked up and turns on power.

If you have already added the fuse and the trailer charge circuit is not activated, then you want to make sure the trailer is connected and you press the brake according to a Ford Service Bulletin on their factory integrated brake control with trailer module 12V charging system.

If you haven't done this yet in the 2018 Ford you may need to activate the tow/haul mode on the 7-way before the 12V output is activated. There should be a dash setting for this in the Ford.
