Troubleshooting Brakes on Toy Hauler Only Getting Power with Manual Override on Controller

I'm guessing you have a proportional brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 and that you aren't getting power sent back to the brake pin while you are sitting still and using the pedal. Since proportional controllers like this also have an internal inertia sensor they won't send back power when the vehicle is sitting still unless the override lever is used. You may also need to check your CHMSL fuse and if the red wire is getting power when you step on the brake pedal.

Once you start driving around with your trailer you should find that the brakes work just fine but I'd test them first to make sure before heading out on a trip.
