Why are There Different Fifth Wheel Hitch Adapters for GM Rail Kits Based on Bed Length

Question:

I have an 18 3500 Denali ling bed with factory prep, why this only for short and not long bed? Demco offeres different adapter for long or short as well, why the different? I dont really line the Demco adapter plate compared to Curt.

The difference between the Demco GM rail kit adapters is that they are offset different based on short and long bed configurations. Either fits both bed lengths but the offset makes the short bed application better for one and long bed the other.

I have to recommend the Demco rail kit part # DM6206 for your 2018 GMC Sierra 3500 long bed but the Curt part # C16023 will fit the rails but may not fit the hitch you have.
