Comparing Reese Strait-Line and Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution Installs and Sway Control

Question:

I have 2015 Silverado 1500 GVWR 7200 lb and rockwood ultra lite 2606ws GVWR 6069. I now have an ez lift 12000-1200 system with friction sway bar. I’m 68 and the chains on this system are brutal to connect. I am looking at the Reece 66074 and 66560 and want the easiest system to connect and go without giving up stability and control. There will be very little weight change so should not have to adj. once installed. I’m Leary of the chains on the 66074 but it looks like it would have more sway control, the 66560 seams it would be easier to connect to tv.we will be on a 6 week trip out west in August and will connect and disconnect almost daily. Sorry this turned out lengthy and so my ? Is 66560 provide good sway control and ease of connecting, thank you for your response.

If we were just comparing sway control then the Strait-Line # RP66074 wins out over the Steadi-Flex # RP66560. Since you are looking into ease of install as well I highly recommend going with the Steadi-Flex over the Strait-Line, especially since you don't like installing your EAZ Lift system.

The Strait-Line is definitely more difficult to set up because you are dealing with the chains and the dual cams plus you have to drill into your frame to install the cams. Even though the Steadi-Flex doesn't have as good of sway control, it is still a great system that has received high praise from our customers and it will be a great improvement to the sway control system that you are currently using. To install this system you just have to lift the arms in place with the included tool and then secure the cover over them to keep them in place.

Attached are review videos of each for you to check out.
